Sicuramente avrete provato qualche volta a mettere su qualche sito che prevede l'iscrizione (anche gratuita); perciò conoscete bene i problemi che possono derivare da coloro che tentano di iscriversi con nomi stupidi e/o offensivi, volgari o addirittura con dei nomi di marchi commerciali.
Oggi vi mostrerò cosa fare per restringere il campo delle username disponibili sul vostro WordPress.
Installate e attivate Restrict Usernames plugin.
Dopo l'attivazione vi comparirà un nuovo menù tra le schede dal nome “Name Restrictions”.
Non dovrete far altro che creare una lista degli username da non usare e anche delle keywords parziali e il gioco è fatto!
Se un utente proverà ad iscriversi con un nome che compare nella lista, visualizzerà una schermata di errore.
Tenete presente che questo plugin non modificherà gli altri utenti preesistenti, perciò buttatevi a capofitto nella lettura di tutte le funzioni di questo utilissimo strumento:
- Prevent usernames that contain foul, offensive, or otherwise undesired words
- Prevent squatting on usernames that you may want to use in the future (but don't want to actually create the account for just yet) (essentially placing a hold on the username)
- Prevent official-sounding usernames from being used (i.e. help, support, pr, info, sales)
- Prevent official username syntax from being used (i.e. if all of your administrators use a prefix to identify themselves, you don't want a visitor to use that prefix)
- Prevent spaces from being used in a username (which WordPress allows by default)
- Require that a username begin, end, or contain one of a set of substrings (i.e. “support_”, “admin_”)
